inet strengthened its Challenger Position in Gartner’s MQ

For the seventh time in a row, the world's leading research and advisory company Gartner has included inet’s TMS on its Magic Quadrant of Transportation Management Systems.

Every year Gartner provides worldwide supply chain leaders with the TMS report, which shows a competitive positioning of technology vendors categorized on two axes according to their completeness of vision and ability to execute.

Group Synergies

Only vendors that demonstrate current strengths in the market on dimensions like market momentum, geographical coverage, live customer references, and multimodal TMS product breadth and depth are considered to be included on Gartner’s report and they are categorized as Leaders, Challengers, Niche Players, and Visionaries. After jumping last year from the Niche Players quadrant to the Challengers quadrant, this year inet made a notable step forward on the ability to execute axe.

According to Gartner, one of inet-logistics’ TMS strengths is its carrier community: “Through the formation of the Alpega Group, inet's carrier network includes more than 50,000 pre-onboarded carriers across all modes and geographies. Alpega also provides the different members synergies and additional capabilities, especially in the areas of freight marketplaces and freight tendering”.

“2017 was a challenging year in which we successfully grew as part of the recently created Alpega Group. With this new synergies, we moved a step closer to our collaborative world vision and strengthened our position not only in the Challengers quadrant but also on the market. That reflects the great efforts made by our team and partners. I am convinced that in 2018 we will be even closer to the biggest players in the sector”, commented Oswald Werle, inet’s Founder and CEO.

Growing Market

An increasing number of new vendors was identified by Gartner this year and the research company considers that the TMS market will keep growing at an accelerated rate through 2022 due to factors like the need to reduce costs; improve internal productivity, efficiency, and customer service; increase visibility; and make better use of capacity.

Those factors are precisely the focus of the inet TMS, a product that ensures visibility, cost-efficiency, and reliability in complex global transportation networks.

The report was written by Bart De Muynck and published on March 19, 2018.
